Tallassee welcomes 'Big Fish'

TALLASSEE -- A scene from the Columbia Pictures movie "Big Fish" will be shot Friday in Tallassee, Councilman Hal Miller said.

"The movie people are going to shoot a scene involving a burning house," Miller said.

The Tallassee Volunteer Fire Department will be at 407 James St. during the filming to make sure the fire stays under control, Miller said.

The scene, scheduled to be shot at about 6 p.m., involves someone saving a dog from a burning house.

"James Street will be blocked off from traffic," Miller said. Residents have been asked not to park on the street during filming.
